Details for Summer Theater

Summer Show Week

Grades 4 to 8

Romeo and Juliet
Tuition:  $315

Available spaces (we’ll take no more than 21 students) are assigned first-come/first-served.  Advance registration also helps with costume preparations.

We’ll be using a pre-prepared, abridged script based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

Parts are assigned based on day one auditions.  Students will receive a monologue in advance to prepare for their audition.

Students will build the set during the week.

Costumes will be simple; size information will be requested two weeks prior to our start date.

Two Day Design Intensive

Grades 8 to 12

Midsummer Night's Dream
Tuition:  $210

In this two day intensive for teens heading into 8th-12th grade, we will be exploring Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Each student will design their own creative color rendering of either the set or costumes for Midsummer Night’s Dream. We will read and analyze an abridged version of the production. Each student will learn the basics of sketching and rendering both a theater set and a costume design. Students will then produce their own unique set or costume design for the show.

At the end of day two, we’ll share renderings with families in a mini art show.  This is an excellent preparatory class for young artists and budding designers, and can also make a wonderful addition to college portfolios for older student artists.

Two Day Monologue Workshop

Grades 2 to 6

Tuition:  $150

Available spaces (we’ll take no more than 12 students) are assigned first-come/first-served.  Advance registration strongly encouraged.

In this two day intensive for kids heading into 2nd-6th  grade, we will be learning some improv and acting basics as well as learning self direction.

Students will also develop two audition monologues under 2 minutes each. Students are encouraged to bring their own monologues with them to practice, although we’ll also provide a small selection.

This workshop is designed to help young actors sharpen their acting skills and know-how for school and community theater auditions.  At the end of day two, each student will present one of their monologues to a family audience.
