Express Yourself! Summer Songwriting for Kids
Summer 2023 Songwriting for Kids is a perfect way for children ages 8 through 10 to explore their individual creativity through song. Students will “find their voice” through creating stories, matching harmonies with feelings, and expressing self through singing. Classes for the 6-week session will be held on Wednesdays from 4:30-5:15 PM beginning July 12.
Teacher: Brenda Lau
Here’s a fun peek into the classroom with songwriter and faculty member Brenda Lau. This is at the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester, sponsored by AllWays Health Care.
Children (Ages 8-10) should be comfortable separating from their parent/caregiver for this class. If the child has any learning delays, please contact the office in advance of registering: firstname.lastname@example.org.
No prior music experience is necessary. Only a willingness to learn and an openness to express music through singing.
Role of Parent / Caregiver
While Summer Songwriting for Kids is a drop-off program, parents/caregivers are invited to stay for the during of class to support the child’s learning. Students may be asked to practice at home between onsite classes: regular encouragement from a parent/guardian goes a long way in helping a child discover and express their inner voice.
