Registration Step 2
New or Continuing Students
Please visit the private lesson registration page which includes an on-line registration form.
Pre-registration for current students opens in late-May each year. Students who pre-register are guaranteed a space with their teacher’s studio and receive scheduling priority for the fall.
Open registration begins the first day of the summer session (late-June); and continues through the school year.
Lesson slots are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Summer lessons are scheduled independent of school year lessons.
For direct contact, email info@pakmusic.org or call the main office at 508-791-8159.
If you get the message machine (we’re often up from our desk attending to comings and goings), please do leave a message.
In-Person, Remote, Hybrid Options
Private lessons are offered both in-person and remotely, or in combination, as individual teacher schedules permit.
In-person lessons take place at our Worcester home. Limited options are available in West Boylston and Shrewsbury.
Remote lessons continue to be available as part of our Pakachoag Connect program. In some circumstances, teachers will request that a student take lessons in-person. Beginning students benefit most from initial face-to-face guidance. In-Person may also be necessary for advanced students to address complexities and intricacies such as breathing, tonal development, and fine motor skills.
Lesson Frequency, Lesson Length
Students progress best when learning is consistent. Weekly lesson attendance is expected during our school year running September through May/early-June.
Weekly lessons of 30, 45 or 60 minutes are available. Recommended length is determined by the teacher or program director, keeping in mind the student’s age and level.
Special note for adults and home-schooled children: while lessons are typically held during after-school and evening hours, daytime slots are available. Scheduling is arranged on an individual basis according to teacher/student availability.
Choosing Instrument,
Choosing Teacher
If you are not sure which instrument is appropriate, our program director can ask some questions to help guide you. The Program Director will also consult with you to determine the best teacher match for new students. A visit to the School may be recommended.
After identifying a time and teacher match, the office will hold a specific lesson time slot for up to five days while you complete registration. During busy seasons (August, September, January in particular), lesson slots will be assigned and confirmed based on a first-come, first-served basis.
Payment and Billing
Once we receive your tuition deposit and have confirmed your first lesson date/time, we can confirm your total tuition for the remainder of the school year. Tuition and payment plan amounts are determined by lesson length cost times the number of lessons in the school year.
For students starting in September, there are 7 billing cycles, following receipt of deposit, running October 1st through April 1st. Monthly billing is taken by credit card.
