Gala entertainment will feature the much loved Pakachoag cabaret traditions with former Cabaret vocalists, 1993 through 2013.
Lauren-Rose King, Alumna. National Finalist, Young Artist Classical Competition. Former student, through high school, of Pakachoag’s Silvia Irving. Graduate, New England Conservatory. Master’s University of Maryland Opera Studio. Performances with Light Opera, New York; Cohoes Music Theater; Glimmerglass Opera. Performances of concert and operatic repertoire at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, the Bard Music Festival and professional vocalist with the historic Marble Collegiate Church in Manhattan.
Christon Carney, Pakachoag Faculty; Member, Boston Lyric Opera.
Jane Shivick, Alumna. National Winner, Metropolitan Opera National Auditions. Concerts with The Boston Pops, Opera Providence, Cape Cod Opera, Watershed Opera in Seattle, and Talents of the World, Inc. The New York Times has praised the soprano for her “character and vocal richness”.
Richard Monroe, Life Friend. Director of Music, Cathedral of St. Paul, Worcester. As a concert and operatic soloist, Richard has performed frequently with the Salisbury Singers, Worcester Chorus, and the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra as well as with Greater Worcester Opera. When not directing choirs or singing, he also serves as a stage and musical director for Assumption College, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Greater Worcester Opera.
Mary Anne Slack, Faculty Emeriti, Pakachoag Music School. In addition to serving as Pakachoag voice teacher during the School’s first decade, Mary Anne is the founder of the School’s early childhood music program which dates back to 1983. Around 1995, Mary Anne led the school in signing on to the national, now worldwide, Music Together curriculum which continues to enjoy a winning reputation with Pakachoag locally and Music Together, nationally. For 20 years, 1993 through 2013, Mary Anne organized the entertainment for the Annual Cabaret event fundraisers helping raise thousands of dollars in support of the Pakachoag mission. Mary Anne is also a recently retired Spencer public school music teacher.
Elizabeth LaBarre, Pakachoag Alumna. Beth LaBarre has been performing and teaching in the Worcester area for many years. She has performed on stage with Vanilla Box Productions and soloed with the Salisbury Singers and the All Saints church choirs. She is Cantor for St. John’s Church in Worcester. Beth grew up with Pakachoag continuing her vocal studies through high school. She is a graduate of Anna Maria College with degrees in Music Education and Vocal Performance.
