Director's Message

Welcome to Pakachoag Music School of Greater Worcester .  Pakachoag is fortunate to report that 2010 marks a year of growth in programs, faculty and students. Despite the economic strains in recent years, families continue to recognize the importance of investing in music opportunities for themselves, their children, and in many cases, grandchildren.

For my own family, with a son now in college, I am constantly reminded of the value of our years as parents and student at Pakachoag. The love of music we share as a family has brought unending fulfillment; a teacher (in our case, Jon Clark, Trumpet) has provided a lasting role model for my son of depth and insight - with regard to both character and music; lasting friendships have been made; skills that carry over into success in college honed; and the desire to contribute to community has become an imbedded, on-going part of my son's college life.

Moving from personal reflections to school-wide anticipation, we are especially excited, at the onset of this academic year, to welcome the Worcester Youth Orchestra which will take up residence at the School, with rehearsals on Sunday afternoons beginning September 2010 in the education wing here at # 203.

Please join with us as - as student, volunteer, financial contributor, concert attendee - as we continue to create, nurture, and inspire good music (and a lot more) with and for all of Greater Worcester.

Sincerely,
Sarah Smongeski
Executive Director
